Georg Stefan Troller Prize awarded for journalism on Jewish life

The FAZIT-Stiftung and the Association of Jewish Journalists (JJJ) have announced the inaugural Georg Stefan Troller Prize. This award recognizes outstanding journalistic reporting on Jewish life and the fight against antisemitism. The prize is endowed with 12,000 euros.

The first winners, sharing the award equally, are Nicholas Potter for ‘Die neue autoritäre Linke’, Thorsten Schmitz for ‘Wer ein Warum hat, erträgt jedes Wie’, Mascha Malburg and Joshua Schultheis for ‘Worüber Juden reden’, and Sharon On and Dirk Laucke for the radio play ‘Auch wenn es dunkel ist’. Anetta Kahane received an honorable mention for her columns in the Frankfurter Rundschau.

The award ceremony will take place on October 11 at the Jewish Museum Frankfurt, featuring a laudatory speech by former Minister-President Armin Laschet. The jury, consisting of 16 independent personalities chaired by Gabriela Hermer and Werner D’Inka, reviewed 133 submissions.
