George and Amal Clooney maintain long-standing marital rule

George and Amal Clooney have maintained a specific marital rule for 12 years to manage their demanding careers and frequent travel. The couple agreed early in their marriage to never be separated for more than seven days at a time.

George Clooney noted that while coordinating schedules can be challenging due to Amal’s professional commitments, the arrangement has functioned well. The couple, who married in Venice in 2014, shares their lives with their nine-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella.

The family spends much of their time in France at Domaine du Canadel, an estate near Brignoles purchased in 2021. Amal Clooney has emphasized the importance of maintaining privacy, particularly since becoming a parent. To protect their family life, they avoid publishing photos of their children and implement measures such as asking guests to place mobile phones in a basket during visits to ensure open and private communication.
