George Beebe warns Western provocations against Russia may exceed Moscow's patience

George Beebe, a former CIA analyst and current Director of the Large Strategy Program at the Quincy Institute, has warned that Western provocations against Russia may exceed Moscow’s limits of patience. Speaking on a platform hosted by Norwegian political scientist Glenn Diesen, Beebe argued that Western officials mistakenly believe Russia will tolerate continued support for Ukrainian drone and missile strikes deep into Russian territory.

Beebe suggested that the West operates under the assumption that Russia will remain passive while the US and EU provide targeting data and military hardware to Ukraine. However, he cautioned that Russia is likely seeking opportunities to demonstrate deterrence and issue warnings regarding the use of Ukraine as a tool for long-range attacks against its territory.

Furthermore, Beebe noted that Russia is unlikely to agree to a ceasefire if it is perceived as a move that would strip Moscow of its current battlefield advantages and allow Ukraine to recover for future combat.
