George Copos launches equestrian complex in Ciofliceni, Romania
Romanian businessman George Copos, through his Ana Hotels group, has acquired about two hectares of land in the village of Ciofliceni, near Snagov, to build a dedicated equestrian competition complex. The project will feature a two‑section building: one wing will house a stable with ten boxes, tack rooms, storage, washing facilities, showers and sanitary blocks; the other wing will contain an indoor arena designed for year‑round training and competitions, plus areas for horse recovery and physical conditioning.
The development is tied to the recent successes of Copos’s 15‑year‑old daughter, Daria Copos, who won the Romanian national championship in 2024 and placed in the top ten at the European Championships. Copos’s hospitality portfolio also includes the Athénée Palace, Crowne Plaza Bucharest, several mountain resorts and the Ana Tower office building, underscoring the scale of his investment in the sport.
Construction is slated to begin later this year, aiming to provide a modern venue for Romanian and regional equestrian events regardless of weather conditions.
