George Hanna Deeb released on bail in domestic violence case

Lebanese content creator George Hanna Deeb, widely known as ‘Dr. Food’, has been released on bail following a complaint filed by his ex-wife, Shrouq Sunshine, regarding allegations of domestic violence. His legal representative has reportedly paid the required bail.

Despite this release, Deeb remains in custody due to a separate, more serious investigation involving drug manufacturing, trafficking, and smuggling. This case, which was transferred to the Criminal Court, follows an August arrest by the Internal Security Forces after raids on facilities linked to him.

Legal experts suggest Deeb may eventually benefit from a general amnesty law, as the alleged drug offenses occurred before March 1, 2026, and he has no other pending prosecutions. The Criminal Court is expected to schedule a hearing to hear his testimony soon.
