George Harrison interview resurfaces with Evansville connection

A long-lost interview with Beatles member George Harrison has resurfaced more than 60 years after its original broadcast. The recording, which aired on the Evansville radio station WJPS, was conducted via telephone from Florida on February 17, 1964.

The timing of the interview is notable as it occurred the day after The Beatles made their second appearance on ‘The Ed Sullivan Show,’ during the height of Beatlemania. The recording was discovered among memorabilia belonging to Harrison’s sister, Louise Harrison.
