San Francisco 49ers stars Kittle and Bosa set for return in Melbourne
The San Francisco 49ers are nearing full strength for their NFL international season opener against the Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne, Australia. Key players George Kittle and Nick Bosa are both expected to play despite significant recent injuries.
George Kittle is trending toward a return from a torn Achilles suffered in January, a recovery timeframe considered ahead of schedule. While Kittle has participated in practices in Australia, head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated the team plans to manage his workload and snap count to ensure a smart transition back to play.
Defensive end Nick Bosa is also expected to suit up after recovering from ACL surgery. Bosa, who has been working back since last September, stated he feels ‘100 percent ready’ for the matchup. His return provides a critical boost to a defensive line that has faced several other injuries this offseason.
