George Mason University athletics report mixed results in soccer and volleyball

George Mason University athletics experienced a mixed series of results across soccer and volleyball. In men’s soccer, the Patriots secured a 1-0 shutout victory against Duquesne, with Mia Casciani scoring the decisive goal in the first half. However, the team later fell 2-0 to Stony Brook in their final non-conference match.

In volleyball, the Patriots faced multiple setbacks against Fordham University. George Mason lost two separate matches to the Rams, including a 3-1 defeat on Sunday at Rose Hill Gym, despite winning the opening set in both encounters.

In men’s soccer, Fordham University also secured a 4-3 victory over Rhode Island in an Atlantic 10 contest, with Sam Delgado scoring two goals for the Rams.
