George Mason University volleyball defeated Northwestern University 3-1 in their season opener. The Patriots won the match with set scores of 25-23, 28-26, 18-25, and 25-23.
Northwestern was led by Mara Štiglic, who recorded 17 kills in her debut, alongside Bella Bullington with 13 kills and Campbell Paris with 12. On the defensive side, Lauren Dignan contributed 13 digs. Despite Northwestern winning the third set, George Mason maintained control to secure the victory.
