George Michael: The Faith Tour concert film to receive worldwide release

A long-lost concert film documenting George Michael’s 1988 Faith Tour is set for a worldwide cinema release. The film, titled ‘George Michael: The Faith Tour’, is assembled from restored 35mm footage captured during two consecutive performances at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy on May 30 and 31, 1988.

Directed by David Austin and Andy Morahan, the 113-minute production utilizes footage from 14 cameras. The release will be preceded by a short film titled ‘Finding Faith’, directed by Mary McCartney, which features unheard interview audio, behind-the-scenes footage from the ‘Faith’ music video shoot, and unseen photographs by Herb Ritts.

The project was announced by George Michael Entertainment in partnership with Mercury Studios. The film captures a pivotal era in Michael’s career as he transitioned from Wham! member to a global solo superstar following the success of his debut solo album, Faith.
