George Michalopoulos, Argolida Special Education Head, Found Dead

George Michalopoulos, the 58‑year‑old head of the Special Education Service (KEDASY) in Argolida, Greece, was reported missing on 24 July after his vehicle was found near the village of Kanthia in the municipality of Nafplio. After nine days of coordinated police searches and volunteer efforts, his body was discovered in an advanced state of decomposition in the remote Hinteika area of Kanthia.

The remains were taken to a forensic laboratory for autopsy to determine the cause and time of death. In connection with the case, two men of Indian origin have been arrested as part of the pre‑investigation. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death while awaiting the forensic report.
