George Moiralios, Aigio Bus Driver, Dies After On‑Duty Collapse

On the afternoon of 6 August, 52‑year‑old George Moiralios, a driver for the Urban KTEL of Aigio, suffered a sudden medical collapse while operating a bus on King Constantine Street near the municipal library. The vehicle left the road and stopped on the sidewalk, causing material damage but no injuries to other road users.

Emergency responders from EKAB arrived quickly, performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation and transferred Moiralios to the General Hospital of Aigio, where he was pronounced dead despite their efforts. The local community mourned his loss; his funeral was held on 8 August at the Holy Temple of All Saints in Aigio, with the family requesting donations to the temple instead of floral arrangements. The circumstances of the incident are being examined by traffic police.
