George Orwell’s Animal Farm receives new film and comic adaptations

George Orwell’s classic political allegory, ‘Animal Farm’, is seeing new adaptations across different media. An animated film version directed by Andy Serkis premiered on September 3. In the realm of comics, ‘Animal Rebellion’ by Tom King and Peter Gross offers a modern reimagining. Inspired by the January 6, 2021, assault on the U.S. Capitol, the comic shifts the setting from a farm to an animal shelter. It uses a group of dogs and cats conspiring to escape their human caretakers as an allegory for contemporary American politics.
