George Pușcaș nears return as Romanian volleyball secures World Championship spot

Footballer George Pușcaș is nearing a return to the pitch following complications from a pubalgia injury. After undergoing surgery, the striker experienced a recurrence of the issue, which he described as a secondary problem arising after intensive use of anti-inflammatories. Pușcaș stated that while he is feeling better and moving in the right direction, he is avoiding setting a strict deadline for his return to ensure a full recovery. Andrei Nicolescu noted that the upcoming international break could provide a beneficial period for his integration back into Dinamo.

In volleyball, the Romanian men's national team secured a significant victory against Olympic champions France during the European Championship group stages in Cluj. Despite trailing 0-2, the team staged a comeback to win in front of a large home crowd. This performance has helped Romania secure qualification for the World Championship, maintaining their position within the top 30 global rankings. The team's next match is scheduled against Ukraine in Bulgaria.
