George Pușcaș questioned by DIICOT in Nordis real estate fraud case

Footballer George Pușcaș has appeared for questioning by DIICOT prosecutors regarding the Nordis real estate scandal. Pușcaș, who plays for Dinamo, claims he was defrauded of approximately 2.5 million euros after investing in apartment projects that were never delivered.

Pușcaș is among several high-profile athletes identified as victims in the case. Other claimants include Florin Gardoș, who is seeking to recover 170,000 euros, and former goalkeeper Alessandro Caparco, who claims a loss of 120,000 euros. Other football figures, such as Cristian Bărbuț and Adrian Ropotan, have also reported significant financial losses.

The investigation into Nordis involves allegations of organized crime, fraud, embezzlement, tax evasion, and money laundering. Authorities are investigating businessman Vladimir Ciorbă and former PSD deputy Laura Vicol. Prosecutors have expanded the criminal investigation, adding 15 million euros to the initial estimated damages. While the Bucharest Court of Appeal recently lifted certain seizures on assets belonging to Nordis Management and Nordis Mamaia, measures against the assets of Vladimir Ciorbă remain in place.
