George Richardson assumes presidency of CODIA

Architect George Richardson has assumed the National Presidency of the Dominican College of Engineers, Architects, and Surveyors (CODIA) for the 2026–2027 term. The inauguration included ceremonial acts in Santo Domingo, including a mass at the Templo Patronal Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes and a floral offering at the Altar de la Patria.

During his inauguration speech at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD), Richardson outlined a management plan focused on institutional modernization, transparency, and the defense of professional practice. He emphasized the importance of unity among members, stating, “From today there are no lists. From today there is only one team: CODIA.”

Key proposals for his administration include strengthening continuous education through certifications, diplomas, and training in artificial intelligence and new technologies via the CODIA Virtual Academy. Richardson also intends to coordinate with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (MESCyT) to secure scholarship opportunities for master's and postgraduate programs for members.
