George Richardson elected CODIA president, pledges technical collaboration with Dominican government
Architect George Richardson was elected president of the Colegio Dominicano de Ingenieros, Arquitectos y Agrimensores (CODIA) for the 2026‑2027 term. He announced that CODIA will enter a new phase of technical collaboration and advisory support to the central government of President Luis Abinader, as well as to decentralized entities and local governments. Richardson, a two‑time former secretary‑general of CODIA and director of urban planning for the Liga Municipal Dominicana, said his inauguration is scheduled for 14 August. He is the son of Dr. Pedro Richardson, executive director of the Federación Dominicana de Distrito Municipales, and Yovanna Rodríguez. The election was backed by presidential candidate Carolina Mejía, who praised the victory and highlighted the broader success of her team in regional CODIA elections across the country.
