George W. Bush reportedly painted secret, unflattering portrait of Donald Trump
Former President George W. Bush has reportedly painted a “really ugly picture” of Donald Trump that he refuses to show to the public, according to author Jacob Weisberg.
In his new book, “Profiles in Cowardice: A Study of Collaboration in the Trump Era,” Weisberg suggests that Bush uses painting as a form of “art therapy” to express political sentiments and feelings that he declines to state explicitly in a public forum. While Bush has widely displayed artwork featuring military veterans, immigrants, and other leaders, this specific portrait remains hidden. Weisberg characterizes Bush’s reluctance to publicly criticize Trump as a “sin of omission,” noting that former presidents often feel a need to remove themselves from active political commentary.
