Georges-Louis Bouchez warns of European instability amid unrest

Georges-Louis Bouchez, chairman of the MR party, has expressed concern regarding the future of Europe following recent instances of civil unrest. Violent incidents involving youth protests have been reported in several Belgian cities, including Brussels and Liège, as well as in France. These events involved property damage, looting, and confrontations with police.

Bouchez attributed the unrest to extreme-left ideologies, suggesting that rioters are targeting capitalism and liberalism—systems he argues provide the prosperity they benefit from. He stated that the primary challenge facing Europe is economic rather than just maintaining order on the streets. He advocated for a renewed focus on industrial production, innovation, and reduced government intervention.
