Georgetown overcomes 17-point deficit to defeat Colgate 27-17

Georgetown rallied from a 17-0 deficit to defeat Colgate 27-17 on Saturday. Colgate, ranked No. 22 in the Stats Perform poll, established an early lead in the second quarter, but Georgetown responded with a series of scoring drives.

Gavin Beard threw three touchdown passes for the Hoyas, including a 1-yard pass before halftime and a 23-yard pass to Burke Carroll in the third quarter. A 3-yard touchdown pass to Hassan Mahasin gave Georgetown a 21-17 lead. Clay Ash contributed 113 rushing yards, while Jayden Sumpter added a 10-yard touchdown run to secure the victory.

Colgate's Joey Tomasso completed 11 of 27 passes for 119 yards, and Cole Fulton recorded a rushing touchdown.
