Georgetown University and UK Green Party face criticism over political rhetoric

Controversies regarding political rhetoric and anti-Zionism have emerged in both academic and political spheres. At Georgetown University, an incident involving the phrase “glory to our martyrs” being written in Red Square on the anniversary of the October 7 attacks has drawn criticism. A co-founder of the Georgetown Jewish Alliance expressed concern that such language, regardless of intent, serves to glorify violence and wounds the campus community.

In the United Kingdom, the Green Party passed a resolution declaring “Zionism is Racism.” The party reportedly rejected an amendment intended to prevent the resolution from being used to pressure or discipline members based on their affiliation with Jewish community institutions. Critics have noted that the party has increased its anti-Israel stance over the last three years, including accusations of genocide.
