Georgetown University President announces five-year strategic plan
Georgetown University President Eduardo Peñalver has announced the development of a new five-year strategic plan designed to strengthen the institution's key priorities. The plan aims to bolster graduate programs, affirm the university's Jesuit and Catholic identity, and evaluate the current budget model.
Additional objectives include increasing enrollment at the Capitol Campus, expanding research capacity, enhancing affordability and accessibility, and strengthening global engagement. The initiative will also look into creating an intercollegiate athletics roadmap and improving revenue generation and cost containment.
A steering committee composed of faculty, staff, and students will supervise the creation of the plan, which is scheduled to be submitted to the university's Board of Directors for review in June 2027.
