Georgi Rusev urges Levski and other Bulgarian club to reach group stage
Bulgarian forward Georgi Rusev said after CSKA 1948’s 1‑1 draw away to Panathinaikos that the missed chances should not be fatal before the team’s next match in Sofia. He used the interview to wish success to Levski Sofia in the Champions League and to “the other Euro participant” in the Europa League, hoping both clubs will qualify for the competition’s group stage. Rusev praised the opponent’s quality, noted the rarity of such matches in recent years, and highlighted goalkeeper Petar Marinov’s efforts, saying the team showed “a valuable face” and should be proud of their performance.
He added that more Bulgarian teams in the main phases would benefit national football, and expressed confidence that CSKA 1948 will improve in the upcoming return leg.
