Georgi Trenchev releases new book on revolutionary Kliment Shapkarev

Dr. Georgi Trenchev has released a new book titled ‘Kliment Shapkarev. Teacher, Revolutionary, Publicist,’ which examines the life and historical role of the Bulgarian revolutionary and educator.

Shapkarev was a prominent figure in the Internal Macedonian-Adrianople Revolutionary Organization (IMRO), serving as a teacher, writer, journalist, and public figure. Despite his active involvement in significant organizational activities and his role in the Adrianople revolutionary committee, the author notes that Shapkarev has often remained in the shadow of his famous father, folk singer Kuzman Shapkarev, and has been absent from many major studies on the liberation struggles in Macedonia and Adrianople.

The book aims to popularize Shapkarev’s contributions and highlight his presence in key organizational events of the IMRO, based on documentary evidence.
