Georgia and Auburn prepare for Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry

The University of Georgia and Auburn University are set to continue the “Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry” this Saturday at Sanford Stadium. The matchup comes amid a significant recruiting shift, as Georgia secured a commitment from three-star cornerback Nash Johnson III. Johnson, a Georgia native and standout at McEachern High School, flipped his commitment from Auburn to Georgia just four days before the scheduled rivalry game.

The upcoming game also marks the 40th anniversary of a notable moment in the rivalry's history following an Auburn victory in 1986. While the series has been historically competitive, Georgia currently holds a nine-game winning streak against Auburn. Georgia leads the all-time series 66-56-8.
