Georgia authorities arrest former jailers and inmates in contraband smuggling case

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office have arrested two former jailers and two inmates in connection with a contraband smuggling investigation at the Dodge County Jail in Eastman, Georgia.

The investigation, which began in early September 2026, was initiated following reports of contraband being brought into the facility. The arrested individuals include former jailers Shequore Jordan, 31, and Dwayne Simmons, 19, both of Eastman. They face charges of trading with inmates and conspiracy to commit a crime. Two inmates, Alec White, 28, of Eastman, and Shelton Jackson, 29, of Fulton County, were also arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit a crime.

The operation involved the GBI Middle Georgia Gang Task Force-Oconee Drug Task Force, a multi-jurisdictional unit that collaborates with various state and local law enforcement agencies across Middle and Southern Georgia. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
