Georgia breaks tourism records for fourth consecutive year

Georgia has broken tourism records for the fourth consecutive year, according to an announcement by Governor Brian Kemp and the Georgia Department of Economic Development. In calendar year 2025, the state saw a record 175.6 million domestic and international visitors.

These visitors spent a total of $46.2 billion on lodging, restaurants, transportation, and other local businesses, representing a more than 2% increase over 2024. This spending generated $5.3 billion in state and local tax revenues, which officials state saved the average Georgia household nearly $1,300 in annual taxes.

The tourism industry now provides a total statewide economic impact of $84.1 billion. The tourism-supported workforce has grown to 473,837 jobs, accounting for approximately one in every 15 jobs in the state. Since 2019, the visitor economy has grown by more than 15%.
