Georgia Bulldogs defeat Georgia State in preseason basketball opener

The Georgia Bulldogs men’s basketball team secured a 94-61 preseason victory against the Georgia State Panthers at Stegeman Coliseum on Wednesday night.

Georgia established early dominance, racing to an 18-6 lead and maintaining control throughout the contest. Senior transfer Freddie Dilione V led the Bulldogs with 14 points, while Blue Cain contributed 13 points and seven rebounds. Cain also hit a buzzer-beating jumper to end the first half, leaving Georgia with a 48-24 advantage.

Georgia State’s Jacob Meyer was the game's high scorer with 20 points. Despite the loss, Georgia displayed strong shooting efficiency, hitting nearly 50% from the field and 76.2% from the free-throw line. The Bulldogs are scheduled to play Charlotte next Friday.
