Georgia gubernatorial candidates Bottoms and Jackson campaign during early voting

The 2026 Georgia gubernatorial race features Democratic nominee Keisha Lance Bottoms and Republican nominee Rick Jackson. Bottoms, the former mayor of Atlanta and a former senior advisor to President Joe Biden, secured the Democratic nomination in May with endorsements from President Biden and former President Barack Obama.

Rick Jackson, a healthcare executive and CEO of Jackson Healthcare, emerged as the Republican nominee after a surprise campaign and a June runoff victory against Lt. Gov. Burt Jones. Jackson has received support from Donald Trump and Governor Brian Kemp.

As early voting begins in Georgia, Democratic candidates are coordinating efforts to maximize turnout. U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff and Bottoms are scheduled to headline a joint rally in Cobb County. Meanwhile, Republican nominees Rick Jackson and Mike Collins held a joint appearance in Dalton alongside Donald Trump to rally GOP supporters.
