Georgia Hunter Bell wins European 1500m gold

Georgia Hunter Bell secured the European 1500m title with a tactical performance during the final night of the European Athletics Championships. The 32-year-old athlete led a slow-paced race before delivering a decisive final 400m in 58.44 seconds, finishing with a time of 4:07.78. She finished a second ahead of Poland’s Klaudia Kazimierska, while Portugal’s Patricia Silva took the bronze.

This victory adds to Hunter Bell’s successful season, which includes World Indoor and Commonwealth gold medals. She now looks toward the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championships in Budapest.

The championship concluded with Italy narrowly surpassing Great Britain in the final medal standings. Italy finished at the top of the table with 10 gold medals, just one ahead of the British team.
