Georgia basketball dominates Montenegro in World Cup qualifier
Georgia's national basketball team secured a dominant 101-74 victory over Montenegro in their opening match of the second qualifying phase for the FIBA World Cup. The win significantly strengthens Georgia's position in the race for tournament qualification.
The Georgian performance was led by a trio of key players: Toko Shengelia, who scored 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds; Goga Bitadze, who contributed 23 points and eight rebounds; and Sandro Mamukelashvili, who recorded 17 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.
In Montenegro, Yogi Ferrell was the top scorer with 12 points. The victory places Georgia in a competitive position within Group I as the qualification window progresses.
