Cobb County to host town halls on license plate reader use
Cobb County police are scheduled to host four town hall meetings to address public concerns regarding the use of Flock Safety license plate readers. The sessions will take place at various locations, including the Milford Recreation Center, Sewell Mill Library and Cultural Center, and the West Cobb and North Cobb Senior Centers, between August 27 and September 15.
The meetings follow statewide investigations and internal audits that have exposed the misuse of surveillance databases by law enforcement agencies. While the technology has been credited with lowering property crime, unauthorized access to the system remains a high-level misdemeanor under Georgia law.
