Georgia Police Officers Arrested for Misusing Flock License‑Plate Data

In July 2026, a Conyers Police Department dispatcher supervisor, Paige Forte, was arrested after an internal audit of the department’s Flock Safety automated license‑plate reader (ALPR) system showed she accessed it more than 30 times to locate her domestic partner’s vehicle. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation charged her with misuse of a license‑plate reader.

Forte’s case is part of a broader pattern in Georgia, where at least 18 law‑enforcement officers have been arrested this year for improperly using Flock Safety’s ALPR data. Arrests include DeKalb County Sheriff’s Sgt. Kabiru Salawu and officers in Albany, Richmond, Fayetteville, Cherokee and Greene counties. Flock Safety credited its audit‑assist tool for uncovering the violations, while privacy advocates call for stricter oversight of mass‑surveillance technology that logs more than 20 billion data points monthly and retains them for 30 days.
