Georgia: Diverse developments in tourism, infrastructure, and politics

In Kakheti, the Askaneli Group, supported by TBC Bank, has opened the five-star Askaneli Resort in Sanavardlo. The 35 million GEL investment aims to integrate international hospitality standards with local culture, creating over 150 new jobs in the Kvvareli municipality.

In Kutaisi, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Revaz Sokhadze announced several upcoming projects, including the modernization of sewage and water supply networks with donor funding. Plans also include the construction of a sports palace and a large recreational space near the modern technology hub.

On the political front, the Tbilisi City Court has moved the case of former Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili to the substantive examination stage. The prosecution's request to close the hearing to protect state secrets was denied by the judge. Meanwhile, Georgian Dream official Levan Machavariani criticized the European Commission, suggesting the body fails to recognize Georgia's role as a key country in the Middle Corridor.

Additionally, the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI) representatives visited the Georgian Technical University to discuss cooperation and potential memoranda regarding mining and geological research.
