US electric mobility faces infrastructure shifts and funding disputes

In the United States, developments in electric mobility infrastructure are facing both expansion and scrutiny. In Los Angeles, EVgo has launched one of the largest non-Tesla rapid charging networks in the city, aiming to facilitate the adoption of electric vehicles by providing more accessible charging options across Los Angeles and surrounding counties, including Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura.

Conversely, in Florida, the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) has challenged the state government's decision to reallocate $153.4 million in NEVI program funds. Originally intended for electric vehicle charging stations, the funds are being redirected toward infrastructure for advanced mobility, specifically electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Florida has partnered with Eve Air Mobility to advance this sector, while SACE argues that the state's existing electric vehicle charging needs remain unmet.
