Georgiadis Mansion restoration begins in Mytilene

Restoration works have officially commenced on the historic Georgiadis Mansion in Mytilene, Lesvos. Built between 1885 and 1888 and designed by architect Argyris Adalis, the mansion is a significant example of eclectic neoclassicism.

The project, overseen by the North Aegean Region, aims to transform the 19th-century landmark into a permanent cultural center known as the ‘House of Culture’. The renovation has a contract value of approximately 1.7 million euros and is expected to take 700 days to complete.

The official start of the works was marked by Regional Governor Konstantinos Moutzouris. The building, originally constructed by businessman Ioannis Georgiadis, consists of a semi-basement, two main residential floors, and two attic levels.
