Georgian leaders address national values and political opposition
During a parliamentary session, Aluda Ghudushauri, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Human Rights and Civil Integration, criticized the political opposition. He stated that while personal grievances may be forgiven, compromise regarding the interests of the country is excluded. Ghudushauri accused the opposition of acting against national interests and referenced past instances of political pressure and violence.
Separately, President Mikheil Chavlashvili spoke at a symposium commemorating the 1700th anniversary of Christianity being declared the state religion of Georgia. He outlined seven eternal values that form the basis of Georgian statehood: God, homeland, person, heritage, language, faith, and family. Chavlashvili noted that these values, rooted in the spiritual heritage of Ilia II and Ilia Chavchavadze, serve as the foundation for the nation's cultural identity and historical path.
