Zelensky says Putin refuses to end war, escalates missile and drone attacks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not want to stop the war and is intensifying missile and drone strikes. He cited a recent night raid in the Kyiv region village of Pukhivka that killed three civilians – a grandfather, a grandmother and their infant grandchild – and injured four others, including the child's parents and a neighbour. Additional attacks damaged civilian homes and struck Kyiv’s civil infrastructure with ballistic missiles.

Zelenskyy called for stronger pressure on Russia, urging new sanctions to curb the production of ballistic missiles and highlighting the need for advanced air‑defence systems such as Patriot, SAMP/T, NASAMS, HAWK and F‑16 missiles to protect the Ukrainian population.
