Georgina Kennedy targets Olympic debut and London Classic final

British squash players Georgina Kennedy and Joel Makin are targeting the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, where squash will make its debut. Kennedy, the English number one, and Makin, a three-time British champion, view the inclusion of the sport in the Olympic programme as a major incentive to extend their professional careers.

In recent competitive action, Kennedy reached the final of the London Squash Classic at Alexandra Palace after upsetting World No. 1 Hania El Hammamy with a 3-1 victory. This win marks the first time in 26 matches that Kennedy has defeated a top-three ranked player. She is set to face World Champion Amina Orfi in the tournament's title decider.
