Georgios Papagiannis joins Anadolu Efes roster for VTB Super Cup

Anadolu Efes has included Greek center Georgios Papagiannis in its 16-man roster for the VTB United League Super Cup, held in Moscow from September 17 to 20, 2026.

This marks Papagiannis's first inclusion in a squad since suffering a serious anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture during a EuroLeague match against Panathinaikos AKTOR approximately eleven months ago. While his presence in the traveling squad is a significant step in his rehabilitation process, team management and coach Pablo Laso have indicated that he is not yet physically ready for active competition.

His inclusion is intended to help him reintegrate into the team environment and adjust to the competitive atmosphere as he works toward a full return to the court.
