Geospatial technology evolves with AI integration and enhanced data security

Developments in the geospatial industry are focusing on enhanced data security and the integration of artificial intelligence to manage growing volumes of information.

To address the challenges of managing sensitive geographic information, con terra has developed security. manager, an extension for ArcGIS Enterprise. The tool aims to reduce administrative workloads by allowing users to dynamically filter content based on spatial areas, layers, features, or attribute fields within a single service, rather than maintaining redundant, fragmented data sets for different user groups.

Simultaneously, Trimble is exploring the role of artificial intelligence in the surveying sector. While the industry has mastered capturing physical world data, the focus is shifting toward using machine learning and AI agents to interpret massive datasets and initiate actions based on insights. This evolution aims to move beyond simple observation toward data-driven decision-making.
