Geovany Quenda addresses limited playing time at Chelsea
Chelsea winger Geovany Quenda has addressed his limited playing time under manager Xabi Alonso. The 19-year-old has recorded only 27 minutes of Premier League action this season, appearing as a substitute in two matches.
Speaking from the Portugal Under-21 training base, Quenda stated that he accepts the manager’s selection decisions and is focused on his own work to secure more opportunities. He acknowledged the high quality of his teammates at Stamford Bridge as he seeks to transition from substitute appearances to a starting role.
Quenda joined Chelsea from Sporting CP in a deal worth over €50 million. While his versatility as a winger or wing-back was expected to suit Alonso’s tactical system, he has struggled to break into the regular lineup following the club's recent managerial changes.
