GEPOS Clinic dismisses two long-term laboratory technicians

The GEPOS clinic in Telese Terme is facing scrutiny following the dismissal of two laboratory technicians who had been with the facility for over 30 years. The decision has sparked protests and formal expressions of concern from labor unions and local political organizations.

Labor unions FP CGIL and UIL FPL have called for a sit-in to demand clarity regarding the reasons for the layoffs and to ensure compliance with regulations concerning seniority and family obligations. They highlighted the economic impact on the workers, noting that one individual is the sole breadwinner for their family. The unions also questioned the necessity of the dismissals given that the laboratory performs over 200,000 services annually.

The local Democratic Party (PD) branch in Telese Terme has also expressed solidarity with the workers, describing the layoffs as a social and economic wound to the region. The party has called on the Benevento ASL, the Campania Region, and local municipal authorities to intervene and facilitate a dialogue between the company and the employees to protect local healthcare services and employment stability.
