Police arrest suspects in a series of thefts across Germany and neighboring regions

Police in the Oberpfalz region of Germany arrested two suspects after the theft of cables worth at least €100,000 from a solar field. The suspects were detained following a vehicle stop and a search of a forest area, while investigators continue to look for additional perpetrators.

In the Wetterau district, a grey Toyota C‑HR was stolen from a parking lot in Giessen, and separate burglary incidents were reported in Bad Vilbel, Butzbach, and Ober‑Mörlen, involving theft of jewelry, cash, cigarettes and a Honda generator. Authorities are seeking witnesses and information.

Thieves also attempted a robbery at a car dealership in Gera, leading to the temporary arrest of two Polish men who were later released. In Mainz‑Hechtsheim, two men fled after being confronted during a break‑in attempt, with one injuring himself.

Further incidents include damage to vehicles and garages in Rien, Lower Austria, where unknown male suspects smashed windows with stones, and the theft of two construction machines from a firm in Rudolstadt, Germany, causing a mid‑five‑figure loss. Police in each location are continuing investigations and appealing for public assistance.
