Gera local news: 101st birthday celebration and cinema updates

In the Gera district of Lusan, resident Erwin Arndt celebrated his 101st birthday. District Mayor Christian Klein (CDU) presented him with a congratulatory card on behalf of the local council. Despite discussions regarding the costs associated with providing greetings for milestone birthdays, the local council intends to maintain the tradition of honoring elderly residents.

The Metropol-Kino in Gera has announced its upcoming film schedule, including the tenth installment of the Eberhofer crime series, ‘Steckerlfischfiasko’. Other scheduled screenings include ‘The North’, ‘Amore und Basta’, and ‘The Sound of the Stradivari’. Additionally, the Polish director Jan Komasa’s thriller ‘Good Boy’ is set to be shown in the MEHRfilm series.

The Friedensbündnis Gera is also organizing a Sunday Matinee titled ‘The Voice of Hind Rajab’ for August 16.
