Gerald Baars reflects on reporting the September 11 attacks

Former ARD correspondent Gerald Baars is reflecting on the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks in a special podcast episode. Baars, who served as the ARD studio manager and foreign correspondent in New York during the events, describes the period as a transformative era that initiated many of the global issues faced today.

The attacks, carried out by al-Qaida terrorists led by Osama bin Laden, resulted in approximately 3,000 deaths in Manhattan and at the Pentagon, with 6,000 people injured.
