Geraldo Alckmin discusses rare earths and coffee in Poços de Caldas

Vice President Geraldo Alckmin participated in the “Sul de Minas: Nossa Terra, Nosso Futuro” meeting in Poços de Caldas. The event brought together political leaders, rural producers, and regional entities to discuss the economic development of the South of Minas region.

A central topic of discussion was the exploration of rare earth elements in the Poços de Caldas Plateau. Alckmin emphasized the federal government's intention to encourage the development of the productive chain for these minerals, including processing and industrialization, while advocating for a balance between economic growth and environmental preservation.

Additionally, representatives of the coffee industry presented demands related to the sector, with small producers from the region highlighting needs for the continued development of coffee cultivation.
