Geraldo Rivera criticizes Trump media ban

Journalist Geraldo Rivera has criticized President Donald Trump’s decision to ban CNN, MSNBC, and Politico from the White House press pool. The ban was implemented shortly before a summit between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Rivera described the move as “as badly timed as it was Unconstitutional,” noting that while the administration sought maximum exposure for the meeting with the Chinese leader, the restriction resulted in the President “playing in the dark to an audience of nobody.”

Former U.S. Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul also expressed disapproval, highlighting the irony that while major American media outlets were excluded, members of state-owned Chinese media were granted access to the White House.
