Dominican Republic reports multiple fatal shootings and stabbings

The Dominican Republic has experienced a series of violent incidents over the weekend involving shootings and stabbings across several regions.

In Boca Chica, a shooting in the Los Coquitos sector left two men dead, identified as Jonathan Villanueva and Jesús Alexis Delgado Ortiz (known as ‘Diddy Glow’), and wounded five others. Witnesses reported that four armed men in a vehicle opened fire without warning. Preliminary investigations suggest the attack may be linked to personal grievances from a year ago.

In Santo Domingo Este, two men, Luis Rivera Simón and Henrry Joel Borrell Rudecindo, died following a shootout with police in the El Almirante sector. Authorities stated the men were using a ride-sharing vehicle under threat to carry out an armed robbery. Additionally, a 16-year-old girl was found dead with multiple stab wounds near the Megacentro shopping area, and a 17-year-old girl was killed in the Alma Rosa sector.

Other reported violence includes a 23-year-old man being chased and stabbed in the Serrallés sector of the Distrito Nacional, and a man found dead inside a wall at a business in Herrera. In Santiago, police operations led to the arrest of 11 individuals and the recovery of stolen vehicles and motorcycles.
