Gerardo Balandrano appointed director of Veracruz Institute of Sports

Governor Rocío Nahle García has officially appointed Gerardo Manuel Balandrano Casas as the new director of the Veracruz Institute of Sports (IVD). Balandrano Casas, a physical education professor with extensive experience in the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sport (Conade) and the Mexican Olympic Committee, is tasked with accelerating sports planning, management, and support for high-performance athletes.

As part of this leadership transition, former director and athlete Crisanto Grajales Valencia will step down from his current role but will remain involved with the IVD. Grajales will continue to collaborate within the High-Performance Directorate to support Veracruz's athletes in national and international competitions.
